Currently seeking qualified applicants for a tenure or non-tenure track Farm Animal Medicine Assistant or Associate Professor.


 


Duties: The effort allocation for this position is as follows: Clinical service and teaching (50-60%), didactic (classroom) teaching (20-25%), research (10-25%), academic governance (5%). The faculty member will share in the clinical and didactic teaching of students
in the veterinary curriculum, and the training of interns and residents
in areas of food and fiber animal medicine, production medicine, nontraditional livestock, biosecurity, and related topics. The faculty member will be expected to participate in clinical emergency duty on a limited basis.


 


 

Qualifications Candidates must have a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree; and have completed a clinical residency program and board certification or be qualified to take the certifying examination in Large Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM, ECVIM), Large Animal Surgery (ACVS, ECVS), or American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Preference wil be given to applicants with a graduate degree (MS or PhD) and experience with nontraditional livestock species such as camelids and pet pigs. Desired start date is July, 2012.
