Clinical Sciences

The Department offers graduate professional programs (internships and residencies). Internships are one-year post-D.V.M. clinical programs in small animal or equine clinical sciences. Internships are designed in part to prepare for residencies or graduate academic programs. Residencies are two- or three-year clinical programs in various disciplines designed to prepare for specialty board certification. Currently, residencies are offered in small animal surgery, small animal medicine, equine medicine, equine surgery, food animal medicine and surgery, zoo and exotic animal medicine, and theriogenology. Application Procedure: Applicants must first be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Oklahoma as described by the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Applications are accepted at any time and will be considered as positions become available. Open positions are listed on theVeterinary Internship / Residency Matching Program web page at http://www.virmp.org/ beginning October 15. Graduates of Foreign Veterinary Schools or Colleges are urged to review the United States prerequisites for licensure administered by the AVMA (ECFVG Program).
