G. Reed Holyoak is a native of St.Ignatius, Montana, where he was raised on a commercial beef cattle (cow-calf operation) and registered Quarter Horses ranch. He served a religious mission in Hong Kong from 1976 to ‘78 and learned to speak Chinese (Cantonese) basic conversation. Upon returning home to Montana, he worked as a ranch foreman for the Arlberg Angus Ranch in Post Creek, MT, from 1978 to ’80 before returning to continue his higher education. In 1979 Reed married Lili J. Blanchard. They have 5 children, three daughters, two sons and eight grand children. His hobbies involve his family in raising horses, fishing and scouting. He is an assistant Scout Master and an Eagle Scout. He also is active in his church, where he is currently serving in a lay leadership position.
